My life is built around food and Edmonton, Alberta has provided the opportunity for me to be a successful entrepreneur: first with Gourmet Goodies catering from 1985 to 2003. My company of one grew to 90 full and part time staff and became one of the top five catering companies in the country, generating $3 million in revenues. In 2005 I started Seasoned Solutions loft cooking school and continued organzing and hosting culinary tours to local, national, and international destinations. To date, 2000 people have taken cooking classes that involve local and regional ingredients and 27 culinary tours have taken place. I want to ensure that people realize that we have a definite food culture in Alberta, that cooking is not difficult, but an enjoyable and social experience and that once you make that powerful connection to what you eat and your health, there is no turning back!
