I was born, raised, and educated in Alberta (but have travelled to many places in the world). I have worked professionally in the agriculture industry for the past 27 years.
I see a clash of idealism, romantic notions, and perceived understanding of agriculture as well as the demand for consumer choice which is sometimes pitted against the reality of modern agriculture, the somewhat insular farm culture, and the economic hardships on those who truly feed the world.
Sitting at the table is an opportunity to have a conversation about agriculture and food. But more importantly, to share ideas and experiences that might better the opportunities for this amazing province.
