Emily Ritchie - Canadian Cattlemen’s Association in Calgary, AB
Emily grew up on a ranch near Turner Valley, Alberta. Raising livestock has been in her family for generations. She is in fact a fourth generation rancher in a homesteading family that made the trek west to the foothills in the early 1900’s. She was a part of the local 4-H club and has had an active role in her family’s commercial cow/calf operation her entire life. When she decided to peruse agriculture as a post secondary education path, her intentions were set on making a difference in an industry that not only has shaped her life, but shapes the lives of every individual globally. Raising cattle in the best way possible has been her goal since the beginning. Emily graduated from Lethbridge College with a diploma in Agricultural Technology, majoring in Animal Science in December of 2015 and since then, has come to find her place as the Youth Leadership Coordinator at the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association. She has also worked on large ranching operations such as Deseret Ranches Ltd. and 100x Ranches, and has held positions at emerging industry companies such as Cows in Control Inc. Agriculture is her passion and her lifestyle. There is nothing she would rather do than work to put healthy, safe and sustainable food on the plates of consumers on a global scale.
