Emily Cribb - Master of Science Candidate in Calgary, AB
Originally from the east coast, Emily grew up in Charlottetown, PEI and at 13 years old moved to Calgary, a city that has expanded her opportunities, her love for food, and her love for nature. From home cooked meals in Western Canada to the maritimes, she has always been surrounded by good food. Her education is in environmental sciences and ecology which has allowed her to explore how the world and our actions as humans are connected, and just how important it is for us to be aware of the impacts we are making. So, two of her passions are environmental and wildlife conservation and cooking and baking, two topics that are connected through the agriculture industry. These two passions first came together for her when she became involved with a project aimed to increase awareness and accessibility of local foods through the planting of fruit trees and bushes near low income housing around Calgary.
She is very excited for the opportunity to sit down and talk about our agriculture industry with like-minded individuals with a wide array of backgrounds and experiences.
Emily would love to be seated next to her grandparents (deceased) who grew up in a fishing village in Nova Scotia or conservationist, Jane Goodall.
"Only if we understand, will we care. Only if we care, will we help. Only if we help shall all be saved." -Jane Goodall
