William Sheard - Farmer in Caledon, ON
William grew up on a Beef Feedlot in Ontario just outside of the Greater Toronto Area. With no brothers to split the chores, William grew up along side his father farming through weekends, and summers. Once graduating the University of Guelph in Agriculture Business longed for international work to gain experience elsewhere. Soon he found himself working in Haiti on a Agriculture Project funded by USAID. He worked with local and international organizations to help understand the growing limitations for Haitian peanut farmers. After one and half years, William found himself wanting to return to Canada to continue working with his father on their farm and bring back knowledge gained. He now resides in Caledon Ontario finishing 1400 head of cattle a year on 1200 acres of land. Corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa grass are their main crop rotations.
