Lee Markert - Family Farm near Vulcan, AB
Lee was raised on the family seed farm north of Vulcan. He attended the University of Lethbridge and received a Bachelor’s of Management degree in 2007. After some brief time in the crop protection industry, Lee returned to the family farm where he continues to operate as a partner. Lee spent six years on the board of the Alberta Canola Producer’s Commission and served as chair in 2015. From 2011-2015, Lee was also part of an initiative by the Alberta government to entice young people back to agriculture and rural living. Lee and his wife Lindsay live on the farm north of Vulcan with their son Reese and are expecting a daughter in June.
