HOTEL ARTS GROUP / ACTA
Miles Krowicki is a friend of mine who passed away a few years ago. He was a dynamic and engaging personality with boundless passions for life’s adventures. We’d likely talk about families, our love of music (he was a drummer in a great band), the construction of the National Music Centre in the East Village and its legacy in shaping Calgary’s cultural economy, urban gardening, tourism (he used to work at the Palliser twenty years ago and sparked my interest in pursuing a career in hospitality), holidays, and why you should always carry a camera with a Lumix lens just in case the perfect shot comes up. He would have loved a seat at the table but he’ll be there with me in spirit reminding me to explore new ideas, take interest in the passions of others, and, if the timing is right, give someone that little nudge they need to execute on a big idea.
