Maddy Knodel - University Student at the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, AB
Maddy is a fourth year student at the University of Lethbridge where she will soon complete her Bachelor of Science, majoring in Agriculture Biotechnology. She is also a fifth generation rancher who has remained involved in her family’s commercial Red Angus and Simmental operation throughout her education. In addition to helping her family, she manages her own small yearling cattle enterprise. Having been raised on a ranch, Maddy has a deep understanding and appreciation of what Alberta agriculture has to offer. She has witnessed the challenges and rewards associated with the agriculture industry, and hopes to contribute to its success and longevity. She is passionate about spreading the word about agriculture and increasing transparency between producers and consumers. Her future ambition is to attend veterinary college to become a large animal vet in a rural area.
If she could pick anyone to sit next to at this dinner, it would be the great American artist Charlie Russell. She would love to sit back and listen to his countless stories of the Old West and all of the changes he witnessed to the western lifestyle and landscape.
