Jennifer Blair - Agricultural Reporter in Red Deer, AB
Jennifer Blair is an award-winning agricultural reporter, communicator, and writer who has spent more than half her career telling stories about farmers. Jennifer turned her life-long passion for agriculture into a calling straight out of college, when she began her career in communications at AFSC. Since then, Jennifer has worked in a variety of communications and policy development roles, including a two-year stint at Alberta Pulse Growers, before joining Alberta Farmer Express as a reporter in 2013. For the past two years, Jennifer has won the Q.H. Martinson Award for Weekly Press Reporting from the Canadian Farm Writers' Federation (Gold in 2015 and Bronze in 2016), and last year, Jennifer won a 2016 Women of Excellence Award for her work in the agriculture industry.
An avid volunteer, Jennifer has volunteered with 4-H, the Red Deer Festival of Trees, and Volunteer Central, where she currently acts as Board Chair. Jennifer lives in Red Deer with her husband, two pugs, and an ornery gecko.
